This position is part of Cargill's AgHorizons business unit, which serves farm customers in the United States by providing products and services including grain origination and storage, grain marketing resources and advice, crop input products such as seed and fertilizer, agronomic advice and information services. We are seeking a Merchant for our facility in Council Bluffs, IA.
The Merchant will be the primary grain merchandiser for the Aksarben Farm Service Group Flex Delivery program. This person in this role manages grain, freight, sales, and purchase positions of the Flex Delivery program.
Principal Accountabilities
50% Develop end user relationships with all existing and future Flex Delivery Locations to the extent that we become the partner of choice, offer sales solutions and other services. Daily knowledge of Flex Delivery locations bid structures and a good understanding of the entire Flex Delivery "market".
30% Manage flex delivery and scalp sales position, assist with logistics of those sales into local processor and feeder markets.
20% Assist Performance Marketing Leader with overall management of contracts, P/L, positions, rail freight and logistics.

Requirements |
Required:
* 1-2 years of grain trading experience with bachelor's degree or minimum 6 years of grain trading experience
* Knowledge of grain futures, future spreads and basis relationships; understand grain flows and ability to capture opportunities the market presents
* Experience with logistics is strongly preferred
