Sodexo is seeking an innovative high level General Manager / Food Service Director for a large 400 residents continuing care retirement community with five dining venues in Cedar Rapids, IA area. The General Manager at this location will be responsible to manage all contract service dining operations, manage 40 employees with a managed volume of $2.7 million annually. The General Manager will have an active role in managing the daily operations related to finance, cost controls, customer service, and provide strategic leadership to exceed resident and client expectations. This position is also responsible for the planning, organizing, and the operations of all the dining services. Reporting to the District Manager, the ideal candidate for this position will have previous experience as a Food Service Manager or Operations Manager / Food Service Director / Certified Dietary Manager and have experience in training and developing professional staff, coordinating customer service programs . Experience in fine dining in a hotel or country club or retirement/independent living community is helpful. Culinary Degree or Executive Chef Experience preferred, but not required.
